Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hoffmann, M.D.

Ulrich Hoffmann started his postgraduate training for Internal Medicine at the Mannheim Hospital of the University of Heidelberg, Germany in 1983. He continued his professional career as a vascular medicine research fellow at the University Medical School of Zurich, Switzerland and the Department of Vascular Surgery, Seattle, Washington, USA. From 1990 to 1992 he completed cardiology fellowship at the University Medical School in Ulm, Germany. Moving back to the University of Zurich, Switzerland he concluded his habilitation in 1995 and became assistant professor for vascular medicine. In 1999 he moved to Munich, Germany as a Professor of Medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University Medical School where he is currently heading the Division of Vascular Medicine at the In- and Out-patient Clinic for Internal Medicine - Innenstadt.

Ulrich Hoffmann´s research interests focus on catheter interventions in peripheral arterial disease, non-invasive vascular imaging, renovascular disease and endothelial function. He has published a large number of original articles, reviews and book chapters and is member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals and advisory boards.
