The course “Sonographic detection of congenital anomalies” is designed for physicians and technicians, who are at an advanced level of ultrasound scanning and interpretation as well as sonographers and other professionals learning obstetrical ultrasound.
The second trimester marks the optimal moment for differentiated obstetrical ultrasound. Our course program starts with technical specifics, followed by an introduction to intrauterine non-invasive diagnostics such as ultrasound detection of fetal anomalies in various organ systems. We will discuss special features in multiple pregnancies such as chorionicity and amnionicity in twins. Beside the importance of soft markers for chromosomal abnormalities in different gestational ages all possible invasive diagnostic techniques to determine the fetal are highlighted.
Anticipating future developments in prenatal diagnosis, 3D-ultrasound is a promising technical option. The relationship of ultrasound findings to their obstetrical consequences are focused in terms of diagnosis, prognosis, counseling and pre- and postnatal therapy. All important features will be explained interactively in small groups and will be trained hands on.
You will receive a certificate which follows the German or where applicable European Guidelines for Certification for the specific course level.
