Cardiac CT is a rapidly evolving field, which provides a clinically valid method for non invasive assessment of coronary artery disease and structural cardiac pathology.

The University of Munich CardiacImaging Group at Grosshadern Clinic has one of the world’s largest coronary CTA databases with cross correlations to invasive catheter angiography and intravascular ultrasound. Since 2006 Munich University Hospital is working with a Dual Source CT, the SOMATOM® Definition.
Main scientific topics at the Munich University Hospital are non-invasive imaging of coronary artery stenoses and plaque imaging in comparison to intravascular ultrasound. Comprehensive experience also exists in functional assessment of the myocardium and certain imaging techniques for patients with arrhythmia or per-cutanous valvuloplasty.
The spectrum of the workshop in Dubai covers scientific lectures, clinical presentations and demonstration of cardiac CT examinations on the SOMATOM Definition, and primarily hands-on sessions at the workstations. During the course, up to 60 clinical CTA cases will be reviewed. By providing cross correlations (including invasive angiography and IVUS) for the cases provided and generating (DICOM structured) cardiac exam reports, learning success for this course is guaranteed.
